    You have to compare them to the democratic party. Modern supporters of the democratic party absolutely won't see anything wrong with the way Republicans acted before 2000 with the single exception being the way Reagan handled the aids crisis.

    Older republican judges supported abortion, Reagan supported gun control, what else is there that's in anyway different as it relates to the modern democratic party. Republicans historically were a liberal party.
