If you listened to his argument, he is right. Voting doesn’t matter and thinking you can use voting to influence power is foolish. He said you should be doing activism instead. He then says vote biden but don’t waste your effort, just take a few minutes, then log off and do activism. im sorry but bri was just kinda libby imo.

I was kind of confused on this part though, like what is activism? When Bri asked about what to do about people who don't care about the environment because they have their plate full already Chomsky told them it's their jobs as activist to make them care. Like why can't we do the same with politicans? As for Chomsky saying not voting won't do anything what of voting third party. Why can't we be the covenant independent vote?

I think comsky was saying thay method of making them care is a waste if time and energy. they are so far under the boot of their handlers and people placated by the prophganda model cant blame him for dismissing electoral methods and we should pressure from a different angle.

ill also say i voted green but I don’t think it matters even if it contributes to funding or whatever. you shouldn’t canvas either focus on concrete organizing labor or mutual aid or agitating or protests etc

    Yes 👍

    He then says vote biden

    No 👎

    do activism

Unless you're rioting, there's no such thing as activism in the middle of a global pandemic, the old man has nothing to say

I dunno, definitely one of those terms that has a "loose" definition, but as I always say: it ain't about the size of the boat, it's about the motion of the ocean

If you were in a specific place in DC around early June, you'd probably see me getting up to some dirt, and by "dirt" I mean standing in the middle of a crowd looking vaguely constipated, anyway Ms. FBI lets not get into such grimy details, m'kay

thats fair about the latter point. I agree he doesn’t have much else to offer, but the first point was majority of where he was coming from

She also backed off arguing about voting. It was Virgil who was trolling and purposely made it overblown on social media

Yeah, he was right, but he probably should have been clearer and just called Brie and Virgil libs for spending so much time on electoralist strategies like conditional voting. He came off like he was refusing to talk about how the Democrats are shit, refusing to talk about how it doesn't just take 10 minutes to vote for lots of people, and refusing to describe what his alternative is beyond just the word "activism".
