The lib hexbear experience is taking a seat in a cafeteria with a bunch of people to say the worst possible thing imaginable and the whole cafeteria stops to hold you accountable.

Hexbear's communication is like an artisanal dessert with a hard shell of irony/sarcasm coating that breaks to reveal a warm sincerity within, creating an interesting rhetorical flavor profile. The average internet liberal is an easy-bake salty and sour pudding that presents itself as a layer cake they saw on Food Network once.
I don’t like that you described hexbear the way Patrick Batman talks about business cards and Huey Lewis.

Had a moment of online culture shock when I recently saw people commenting on how gross eating ass is and assertions that all the talk about it is people being ironic and joking. Someone even had the gall to respond with “haha keep telling yourself that buddy” when someone said that people have been eating ass forever! Have you heard of the romans??

I just joined as well. I discovered Hexbear from this reaction I saw over on mastodon. I am very happy I did, was fast losing all my hope as that supposedly was the "leftist" corner of the internet. Coming from the big social -> mastodon pipeline I thought it was.
Its kinda weird that there are libs those like my posts over on mastodon , and then i see their posts criticizing hexbear ! Like ugh !!

I like calling it "fleshspace" when I'm interacting in person with someone I generally interact with online or over the phone, because I think it sounds funny, but I also like to think about the viscerality of meeting face to face. It's entirely different being a body than just a voice online, y'know? I could start bleeding or cough or arouse them.
I sometimes like to think in the ape terms but in an affirming and encouraging way. Like "hey, we have a polio vaccine, not bad for a buncha apes". Or "man, that didn't go well, but you know, we're all just apes trying our best, and we'll do better tomorrow."
i thought setting my default to "all" for a little bit might be nice, but holy fuck the libs are annoying. it's about as bad as the front page of reddit
