Tbf relationships are transactionary, in the sense that both parties get something out of it. Though, of course that’s not the entire picture. People are more complicated than that. Personally I think it’s more so to do with protecting yourself from harm. Putting the burden of ending a relationship on the other person to protect yourself from having to feel that.
