This article should be the coffin nail for people thinking the kids are gonna save us. I screenshotted this as I read yesterday. Also I swear to god the casting call for this focus group had a question about how much you love Josh Shapiro that NYT filtered everyone out on.

    Here are my favorites:

Some of the few good points:

    Show

    Show

The liberal ad campaign is grating:

    Show

    "Amazing" zoomer media criticism:

    Show

Young undecided voters are just a reddit comment section:

    Show

The dumbest white woman you know:

    Show

Megyn Kelly style women are the most oppressed people in America:

    Show

I'll add more later when the rate limit on uploads resets. There's some more amazing garbage in there.

i have worked for almost a decade in market research and i suddenly feel morally compelled to use my professional knowledge to infiltrate a focus group like this and get "death to the yankee menace" printed in the NYT

they wouldn’t print it, there’s no way that they don’t edit out politically inconvenient opinions. These articles are like slightly gussied up street interview videos from some random youtuber.

When that screen came up, as I was reading, I literally said the name of the book out loud.

All white, all mostly middle class to PMC jobs, and 2 of them wrote in Mike Bloomberg and Larry Hogan because they couldn't hold their nose for Trump.

Can't remember where I read/heard it said recently, something along the lines of, "Undecided voters just want to feel like they are the most important person in the room. They know nothing about the situation but still want to speak at length about it so long as people around them are watching and nodding politely."

there's lots of people who don't prefer either party. but it takes a particularly diseased breed of individual to have no preference, but feel compelled to vote anyway. luckily, journalism is here to provide us an insight into their minds.

I genuinely want to know if this is a "representative sample", or if these are all just the nieces and nephews of people in the office. If it's the former, then this is doomer material.

at 13 it can't possibly be representative even if randomly chosen. you would need closer to 2500 people to have a representative sample for 150m voters

This really seems like one of those ”we asked the voters” Onion articles.

”wrote in Romney in 2020”, lmao.

don't worry, anybody who'd be willing to participate in a NYT focus group in good faith is a terrible person. definitely not representative of the norm
