Title

Oh yeah it hasn't been added to the constitution yet despite it being a thing proposed in the 1970's. There's a chance our next president here is going to undo one of the meager concessions obtained by the civil rights movement and spit on it's legacy

Edit: Pls join protests and stuff, there was a march last week to try and pressure him into getting it included in the constitution but it's been basically erased from media

the "liberal" in me is angry that democrats have been campaigning as the lesser evil for 12 fucking years and won't do the bare fucking minimum to stop the minorities they hold hostage from being killed and enslaved

the communist in me is angry that anyone on this website would even consider this a good thing, because the amendment is currently the only time-reasonable way to try and prevent there from being neurodivergent labor camps and mass deportations

both sides of me are the communist, actually. we need to start banning this weird Hitlerite minimization shit. Elon "Most Divorced Trans Hater" Musk, RFK "Brain Worm" JR, and JD "I Love Murder Actually" Vance are going to be in office in a position of power and they don't even have the ghoulish apathy of your average war criminal dem to stop them from killing as many people as they can. They want to kill more people than are being killed now. They WANT the working class to suffer, not because they love to exploit it as is usually the case (though they likely do as well), but because they genuinely believe the majority of the working class is subhuman and should be eradicated. These aren't the usual kind of hollow ghoul we've seen. They have principles and their principles are absolutely monsterous.

To be clear, I do think the Dems are probably similar at this point, if not since the beginning. I think they just hide it. There's no other reason I can think of for why Biden why refuse to do such a simple thing that would vastly increase the approval of him and his party.

Sorry, I should have clarified, 12 years of this specific Dick Cheney/Hillary strain of hitlerism

Your take is absolutely correct. My comment was extremely poorly worded, and upon rereading it, I'm appalled that it got any upbears. I'm terribly sorry to have come across this way.

Tbf I should not have said it so rudely, we're all trying to exist / live / survive what's going to happen next and what's happening right now and I shouldn't be going at others throats like this who are in the same situation (like you).

The accelerationist in me disagrees, because it's long past time to stop legitimizing a constitution that expressly permits slavery and weights some people's voices more than others

What in the palor are you fucking talking about? Are you ok?

I'm sorry. That comment was very poorly worded of me, and I have deleted it. After rereading it, it's appalling to me that it got any upbears.

To be clear, I do agree is no excuse for Biden not having even feigned an attempt to get the ERA certified. I vehemently believe that everyone deserves equal rights, and in a just world, it would have already been in the document in the first place.

The accelerationist position I was very badly attempting to state was basically along the lines that while Trump's policies are objectively bad both at home for Americans and abroad for everyone else, especially for marginalized groups, they might possibly hasten the demise of the US.

Death to America is my actual take — accelerationism is not. Honestly, I don't think I really had a right to speak on this in the first place, and I sincerely apologize for my poor choice in doing so.
