I'm in the mood to watch something longer-form than a movie. What are your favourite english-language miniseries? Either fiction or documentary is OK, so long as it has a definitive and satisfying ending if a work of fiction.
The Good Lord Bird - it's about
Maniac - this one's very strange and hard to describe - kind of a surrealist cyberpunk-ish dark comedy, I really enjoyed it
The Queen's Gambit - pretty lady very good at chess
The Haunting of Hill House - spooky ghosties
Midnight Mass - spooky vampires in a spooky island town
Godless - good if you're into westerns
11.22.63 - if you can stomach James Franco it's really well made. about a guy using time travel to try and stop the JFK assassination but just wants to chill in the 60s instead
surrealist cyberpunk-ish dark comedy
Comrade, that is my jam.
Thank you!
I'm 4 minutes into the first episode and I am absolutely sold on it already.
A Moody Christmas (Australian version, not the American adaptation): Comedic slice of Aussie culture, following a family as they meet up for Christmas each year. Just genuinely good laughs and an honest look at family culture in Australia.
The Woman in the Wall: Very haunting character drama about the Magdalene asylums . Very confronting and deals with heavy topics.
Over the Garden Wall: Animated miniseries, extremely tightly written and executed on perfectly. Incredible voice cast. Very quirky but not randumb. Contains one of my favorite songs of all time.
Top three picks of miniseries I've watched semi-recently, all of them, I think, having great premises and manage a satisfying, conclusive ending.
Thanks, I'll give them all a shot! I am a little familiar with the Magdalene laundries but I've never delved deep into the topic.

War and Peace! War and Peace! Russian is the English of Asia its the same thing, basically
Station Eleven. Could be another number in the title. Gael Garcia Bernal is in it. There's strong theater kid energy in it but stick with it.
