Don’t worry the person you were arguing with has all the worst takes. I understood what you were saying and valued your input and perspective.

How is what I said a take in any way?

The video presents this information really plainly and from that I would say finding dog meat in China is not difficult or uncommon.

How do you call it uncommon if there is a dog meat festival?

This site is a really bad litmus test on things related to China, it's like we all feel the need to defend anything happening there because Reddit would be incredibly racist in the other direction.

The assertion that dog meat is eaten is no more of a moral transgression on the Chinese people than eating beef here, they're just poor. No part of that statement is racist to make, especially when you pair it with the actual footage from vendors and markets selling dog.

Yes, people do eat bugs. I didn't call Chinese people 'disgusting' you fucking moron.

If there is dog meat for sale, and there are festivals around eating dog meat, and your girlfriend's family raises dogs as cattle, then dog meat is eaten in China.

It's braindead that you continue to try and argue against that.

People who make threads don't get notified of every comment on them.

Whatever, that's the most loser shit I've seen on this site.

Because the person you were arguing with lives in China and thus probably knows more than your base understanding of the subject (watching some sinophobic vloggers channel). They gave you the stat. 25 million dogs are killed for meat. In a country with more than a billion people that’s not common. That’s a meal they have a few times a year like at a festival.

It’s a take because you’re telling a Chinese person their lived experience isn’t real. Don’t be racist. Take that shit to Reddit, they’ll eat it up.

The person I'm arguing with just admitted his girlfriend's family runs a dog meat farm.

Maybe he's defensive because people on this site (and when talking about their home countries) get insanely defensive about China.
