11 years later people lost their shit because the protagonist of a GTA game wasn't white.

Did they not play San Andreas? Also why would racists be mad that a game depicts a black person as a violent criminal?

No one cared? WHAT lol. DS9 was extremely controversial for many reasons, some good some bad. Historical revisionism is alive and well in everything I see

Speaking of that documentary however, I have found out that it smears Marc Alaimo. Nana Visitor has said after it was released the way it was cut made it seem like she hated the guy and it was cut around her talking about how she had a hard time hanging out with him on set, especially in makeup cause they were both trying to stay in Acting Mode and the characters hates each other. They visited each other for dinner from time to time off set. It is possible that Ira Steven Behr didn't like Marc Alaimo cause he was pretty vocal about not liking Gul Dukat becoming the anti christ.

That sucks, why did they manufacture animosity like that? Just to hit an emotional beat in the doc?

Oh yeah, I remember everyone complaining about Avery Brooks being Commander (and then eventually Captain) Sisko

Star Trek nerds were awful, just like they were to Kate Mulgrew for playing Captain Jane way

It's literally why they had that episode Beyond The Stars

I still tear up thinking about his breakdown at the climax of that episode and how almost a hundred years later, the same small, bigoted minds make the same complaints

The more I learn about Voyager's behind-the-scenes, the more respect I have for her. She tried to take a horribly inconsistently written character and make her work for 7 damn seasons - and she mostly succeeded. Mulgrew's work ethic was one of the few completely positive things about Voyager.

The cast of voyager were overall really good and I wish they had gotten a better show.
