think it's the "eyes left" podcast guy. west point grad and had that under his cover. is a pic that gets reposted here often.

also thinking of all those revolutions that succeeded without the contributions of military veterans

Name one time volunteers in an imperialist army ever sided with us. Every time it’s been conscripts or members of non-imperialist armies

The USAmerican military is much closer to the wehrmacht than the imperial Russian army
Every last USAmerican troop is complicit in war crimes across the globe
Plus the idea of the yankee left actually doing anything useful is laughable at best

yankee left actually doing anything useful

The american left of yesterday (40-50+ years of yesterday), maybe. There is no left in america now, not really.

This is not a remotely unique take, but 15 years ago I remember arguing with libs in meetings about how if you didn't tie the language of identity politics to anything you were asking for reactionaries and capitalists to use it against you.

Flash forward to this week and I've personally seen at least half a dozen articles (mostly from the same ghouls as the start of the Syrian civil war and before with Iraq) framing former Al-Qaeda & ISIS forces as 'woke'.

Absolutely cursed escalation far beyond the usual powers of lathe-of-heaven

Can anybody give more context on this? I don't know enough about this without googling to know what's going on. I did Google his name, but I don't know much else. Enlighten one of the youths about this

And they're so shameless/desperate that there's been a substantial media effort to portray them as 'woke' for western lib consumption.

Everyone have that phase after collage where they go abroad, enslave women, burn cities and chop a few heads off, to find themselves. It's great experience and you can even pad your CV a little. Western NGOs love that shit.

Unfortunately, the same people who will buy al-Julani's story bought that one about the SS a long time ago and keep 'falling for it' like it's a loony toons plan and they really do want to catch the mouse/rabbit/road-runner.
