Don't you want to tell your boomer grandfather who worked all his life for what he has how ridicule his wealth is ? Look no further.
"This group of wealth is so small they could fit inside a 747..."
an idea is born
The only problem with this is in the middle, when it says "now some may say this is tied up in stocks and can't be turned into cash" before handwaving it away with what I assume is the fact that liquidating it or taking out loans with it as collateral is trivial, which while obviously true misses a bigger problem: that capital rightfully belong to the workers and the communities its in, and if its expropriated just be sold to other billionaires or to the petty bourgeoisie and labor aristocracy you're just moving the problem around, redistributing wealth among the ruling class itself rather than through society as a whole.
The answer to "there are billionaires" is not "smear their holdings around so there are more billionaires and millionaires" it's "stop fucking recognizing their claims over capital as legitimate and return that capital to the people." The problem of the ruling class owning the vast majority of all wealth in society cannot be solved by merely dissolving the most egregious outliers into a rich capital slurry for the rest of the ruling class to gorge themselves upon as eagerly as they gorge themselves upon the blood of the working class, it's dissolving the ruling class as a whole into a nutritious capital slurry to nourish and sustain the working class as a whole.
If somebody was so inclined they could fork, edit the text, and re-host: https://github.com/MKorostoff/1-pixel-wealth
As we proceed, try to keep in mind: all of this wealth is controlled by a group so small, that they could fit on a single 747 airplane—with 260 seats left over.
Yes, a Boeing would be perfect. Edit: In Flight Simulator, of course.
make it a Boeing 737 MAX, there's a lot of them sitting idle in hangars for some reason
Obviously, the people who did this are socdems, and it shows. But it kicks ass, and is amazingly done, so I'm posting it here for all your radicalizing-the-libs purposes.
Even my dipshit, chud, boomer father agrees no one should be allowed to be a billionaire. I was very surprised when he told me this, and it filled me with a tiny bit of hope that, maybe someday, Americans will get it.
Don't thank me lmao, I just found it on leddit, and thought you guys could use this. :)
Obviously inspired by this.
An excellent use of the concept. Very good stuff.
