If he’s mentally ill he might’ve just fixated on his plan for the ceo without thinking about how to live life on the run afterwards. Although carrying around his manifesto suggests he expected to be caught. It is a bit weird.

Of all the explanations for "why he made such huge blunders now despite being competent before" I think this is the most likely. He saw the media circus, saw his 5 minutes of fame and tried to cash in, not realising that this makes him look like a dipshit instead of a hero.
Personally I think this guy is probably a patsy or scapegoat the NYPD picked up to make it look like they're doing something after this made them a laughing stock. It'll probably be revealed in 6-12 months when this finally goes to trial that there is 0 evidence this guy did it and the cops actually had no leads at all.

I posted this before learning he is some alt right weirdo so I dunno maybe he did want to get caught to make some bizarre point or is just terminally incapable of considering owning 1 (one) less gun to save his own life like most usamericans are.

It was a ghost gun tho, wasn't it? Unless you like-- went to the effort of taking the slide, grips, and trigger well to mirror-fine sanding, I can't see a 3d print being a "favorite gun" of mine. (But I'm also biased, I have little respect for polymer-wrought handguns, and miss the era of polished wood and gunmetal.)

The video didn't explain anything. It started off by saying "if ur seeing this I am in custody, then had a countdown, then said "All will become clear in time." It was reported a second video was scheduled to be uploaded/posted but the youtube account was taken down before that happened. As far as we know there's literally nothing useful in the youtube video.E) NM I see further down you found it.
