Caves of Qud is a pretty good roguelike game. The dev is this crazy idpol obsessed weirdo who seems like they got their entire worldview from tumblr blogs. For an example of how insane they are, one of the rules for the official Discord is you aren't allowed to make any jokes about the faction in the game that is an allegory for Nazis. Because joking about something obviously means you like the thing. You also aren't allowed to ask that this faction have their lore fleshed out more because obviously only Nazis would want that. You have to set your pronouns through a bot that sets a flair for you, you can't just set it yourself or not set any. You have to agree to poorly written fake terms and conditions before being allowed to even view the server.

Sseth is a youtuber who does game reviews. He only reviews games that are obscure but high quality, so whenever he reviews a game it's popularity explodes. He likes to troll people and his videos are nonstop edgy jokes about warcrimes and anime. His fanbase is moderately cancerous because they don't purge chuds, they just ignore them and let them hang out. Whenever his fanbase finds a game from his reviews, they let it be known that is how they found the game by using "hey hey, people" as their introduction to forums, multiplayer servers, etc.

Whenever his fanbase started swarming the discord for the game, the dev and moderators flipped shit because introducing yourself with the phrase "hey hey, people" is an attack on the community and low effort trolling, and posting screenshots of a moderator banning you for doing so is doxing, and telling a large audience to buy your game is a harassment campaign.

Basically they are reacting to a minor incident in the most extreme way possible, and in response a ton of people are now actually harassing the community because they let it be publicly known they are extremely easy to mess with and have no idea how to respond to trolling.
