In Finland the government took the IMF fully in and pledged to privatize and halt the advance of a welfare state in 1992.
It's such a pet peeve for me to see the Nordic model used in AmeriKKKan rhetoric as a thing that exists, it barely ever managed to exist.
Nordic model doesn't even exist anymore, got mostly eaten by capitalism over the last decade and a half
Pretty sure Norways also depended on having lots of oil money and not being invaded by America for said oil
