Whenever I put music or a podcast on in my office, there's roughly a 90% chance someone will walk in within the next 30 seconds and I have to pause it. I am going to start testing this theory and recording the results.
It's like how I could be working alone somewhere for an hour and no one will be around, but if I fart, someone will walk behind me 10 seconds later, or worse, suddenly want to have a conversation. I always say that if I'm ever lost in the wilderness, all I need to do is rip ass and someone will magically appear within seconds.
I just imagine you sitting alone in an office where you face the door, and having been alone for hours you lift a cheek, squeeze one out, and behind you someone says "oh hey, john_browns_beard" and walks out of the office all cavalier.
