Image is of Jeff Daniels in The Newsroom, giving a speech (parodied below) about how - gasp - America sucks. But in a patriotic way.

And you - general megathread poster - yeah - just in case you accidentally wander into the news megathread one day, there are some things you should know, and one of them is that there is absolutely no evidence to support the statement that we're the greatest megathread in the world.

We're seventh in citations, twenty-seventh in accurate predictions, twenty-second in effortposts, forty-ninth in non-mainstream article posting, 178th in guessing when wars will start, third in powerusers, number four in dialectics, and number four in megathread exports. We lead Hexbear in only three categories: pointless infighting, number of adults who believe Putin is based, and copium manufacturing, where we produce more than the next twenty-six lemmy megathreads combined, twenty-five of whom are full of delusional liberals. None of this is the fault of any Hexbear user, but you, nonetheless, are without a doubt, a member of the WORST-period-GENERATION-period-EVER-period, so when you ask what makes us the greatest megathread in the world, I don't know what the fuck you're talking about! Jokes about whether they got a Zionist's semen in time?!

Israel-Palestine Conflict

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

UNRWA reports on Israel's destruction and siege of Gaza and the West Bank.

Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Examples of Ukrainian Nazis and fascists
Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Sources:

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
Simplicius, who publishes on Substack. Like others, his political analysis should be soundly ignored, but his knowledge of weaponry and military strategy is generally quite good.
On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Pro-Russian Telegram Channels:

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.
https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.
https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.
https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.
https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.
https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.
https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.
https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.
https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.
https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine Telegram Channels:

Almost every Western media outlet.
https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.
https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

Another pov on georgia (of pro-color revolution variety). If one were to skip obvious obliviousness of "we are not doing color revolution, as we are decentralized" and "eu just likes democracy", some interesting tidbits for caucasian heads (if we have any)

Georgian Dream ran on a platform of fear-mongering, deploying the slogan “choose peace, not war” paired with images of a flourishing Georgia on one side and on the other a destroyed Ukraine. Their implication was clear; if you vote for the opposition Georgia will end up invaded and occupied by Russia.

Well, duh, everybody can see whats happening in Ukraine. If the far right wing party is the only one convincinly saying, "Hey, you don't want our country to be turned into a warzone. Neithe do we.", the less right wing parties might be fucking up. Joining NATO, or attempting to join NATO, seems like a pretty big step towards paving the way to this reality.

The four main opposition parties coalesced into coalitions to challenge Georgian Dream in the election. They are parties of the technocratic establishment, most of them affiliated to the previous government, and proved unable to address the grievances of the vast majority. Most voters don’t like them ...

I'm a big smooth brained baby about Georgian politics and its recent history, but if this pro-protest interviewee is admiting to this, it really hurts their case that I should believe the claim that the election was stolen or rigged.

The opposition parties play next to no role right now in the movement. They have been sidelined despite what the Western media say. People have been telling a joke that these parties should at least do something like provide hot tea at the demonstrations.

Okay, so, once again. If the opposition parties are so weak and ineffectual, by the admission of the interviewee, should I give a lot of weight to the claims of election rigging by the Georgian Dream party? They're basically admitting that there was no actual opposition to Georigan Dream outside of names on a ballot. Literally giving voters no actual opposition party or platform to vote for, just hoping that voters would vote for anybody else but Georgian Dream and that would result in "victory" or something. Should I hope that I'm just too ignorant of Georgian politics to be able to give the interviewee the benefit of the doubt?

But when you’re on the protests, they are actually a negligible force and are doing very little. (in reference to the political opposition to Georgian Dream)

Some of these politicians have become so self-conscious of their insignificant role that they are now refusing to be interviewed at the demonstrations. As a result, those now being interviewed are young people, many of them in gas masks, and what they have to say makes a lot more sense than anything you’d hear from the politicians.

There's gotta be some kind of translation/interpretation issues that are cutting out context or something right? This interviewee just keeps giving me, an outsider who is supposed to be reading this article to be convinced in the just nation of the anti-government protests, lots of reasons to doubt the claims of election rigging that actually caused the losing party to win.

        I told you it's interesting.

Georgia suppressing unions is kinda common thread in all descriptions of happenings (both pro and anti government), and yet libs are rotating around idea of unions only vibe-wise, not structural core of the state, and still hope for politicians to do something (tm).

Demanding that the democratically elected president be ousted is an “uprising for democracy”?

I guess “anti-democracy riots” just doesn’t have the same ring to it.

They are disputing election results according to their own/parties given polls. whether election was falsified or whether polls given to them are falsified is unknowable shrug-outta-hecks

Whatever they believe, they have some stuff around eu green investments and shit (around second half of the article becomes more interesting instead of whining about authoritarian this or that brain blasts), but it is highly liberal article so small cw here

Oh i mean hypocrisy is breathtaking, but doesn't have anything to do with truth. (and copmala campaign said they were never in lead, so they just lied to press, as it's not illegal to)

They are disputing election results according to their own/parties given polls.

Same playbook they tried in Venezuela. It's gonna become the standard move - have the pro-US party claim their polls show they easily should've won, Western media runs with it, consent manufactured.

It's kinda historic playbook from the 00s, with first color revolutions then. Prepare poll results, democratic protests cause poll results don't match "real" (or not) results, escalate to violence and see what's up. If successful install local pet and/or just remove "bad" parties.
