Russia continues advancing in Ukraine, with Russian troops nearing the strategically significant city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk. Capturing Pokrovsk would mark Russia’s most notable military gain since the onset of trench warfare in eastern Ukraine, potentially enabling further advances toward Kramatorsk, an industrial hub with military production capabilities.
Russia has occupied around 1,000 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory since February, and the rate of advance is accelerating. The looming military victory makes it increasingly unlikely that Russia would agree to a settlement. Meanwhile, Western optimism about Ukraine’s chances has waned, with financial and military support dwindling.

You do realise that Russia's real objective was to conquer the entire world, it's clear that they have lost the war. We did it reddit!
Last year’s fight for Bakhmut, which cost the lives of many thousands of Russian soldiers, served no known military purpose.
What the hell is this rag? If it served no military purpose, why did Ukraine fight so hard to defend it?
We're going to hear the same shit about Chasiv Yar, when the Russians eventually take it. Ukraine has been fighting hard to defend it but they'll pretend it's not big deal and that Russia was silly for wasting so much time on it
Next year we'll be hearing how Ukraine itself had no strategic value.
It's funny because even admitting the truth had to come with caveats like "1000km isn't that much territory" and "Russia lost thousands taking Bakhmut, which wasn't important anyway"
