From a rightist perspective, it's pretty smart to have things set up this way

Instead of completely obliterating the left, have the left exist as a disorganized fringe that has internalized so much bourgeois culture that it propagates capitalist/imperialist points without even meaning to, thus stunting any meaningful left discourse
