Like, are we going to condemn all Australians because the Australian SAS is populated with war criminal pieces of human excrement? Well I see the sentiment but its pretty jocular. And even if it was sincere, what the fuck is it going to accomplish? People are going to punch people if they say G'day? Normalizing Islamophobia, on the other hand, has a proven track record of getting innocent people hurt. It empowers bigots. It also makes the terrible assumption that the climate of criticizing Islam is done in good faith, and not just a way of justifying bigotry toward people who look different. It normalizes xenophobia, racism, and islamophobia all in one convenient and disgusting package.
