The Republican party is simply the party of Trump; it feels bizarre that a clown like him got so far (until you realize reactionaries always flocked to demagoguery more than they did people with actual solutions) and frankly if he gets his second term I really do think he can convince his voters to support his son. I genuinely can't imagine Republicans giving a final farewell to a Trump presidency.

I know "demagogue" is a lib meme specifically meant to demonize mass politics but this describes the Democrats too. Lib voters have a faith in their elected officials totally disproportionate to anything they actually do.

Trump does not care for any of his sons enough to anoint them as a successor. Ivanka maybe, but even that's a stretch.
