Not French, but here's some of the thing's I've heard he's done or tried to do:

    1. Tried to effectively cut worker pension's by 1/3 disguising it as a "pension reform".
    2. Tried to "Solving climate change" by imposing gas taxes that make it impossible for most truck drivers to earn a living
    3. Waged war using massive police presence against the yellow wests for more than a year, only saved by the pandemic which gave him the excuse to clamp down hard on protests.
    4. Used COVID to try and ram through legislation.
    5. Fuck up the covid response and resort to authoritarianism when it blew up in his face.
    6. Practice imperialism over Lebanon after the explosion, pushing IMF loans meaning more austerity and privatisation (don't really know if lebanon took the loans, think its still up in the air)

He does all of these things while maintaining an image as the reasonable professional politician, but he's just another Neoliberal ghoul.

yeah i remember being way more politically illiterate back then, and being happy le pen lost but then everyone saying "macron is horrible too so this is really not that much of a victory"

You know how Mayo Pete had a cool dad who's a Gramsci scholar? Macron had a cool professor in Paul Ricouer and ended up being a ghoul. Those are like the saddest super villain stories.

Well, one psychologist thinks Macron is a psychopath.

It does appear to be from a junk tabloid paper, but implying that Russian media is inherently dubious is lib shit.

Actually it is from Komsomolskaya Pravda, which is translated as Truth of the Communist Youth. With the name like this I assume they are very trustworthy.

Sadly, Komsomolskaya Pravda was privatised in the 90s. It's a joint stock company right now and has nothing to do with its name and original purpose

If it's stuff that's mad juiced up and has a big budget? Yeah it's sus, just due to how lockstep the Russian capital oligarchy is compared to other countries.

Of course, that aint meant to say that anything russian is inherently suspicious, just the things that look connected to their version of our MSM

I'm not sure their oligarchy is any more coordinated than any western capitalist country. RT is probably their biggest media company and they're not too bad, certainly no worse than CNN.

this jacobin article is quite illuminating in this matter: https://www.jacobinmag.com/2020/10/france-islamophobia-secularism-macron-marine-le-pen

Basically Macron is setting up a slow burn fash system by using the far right (eg le pen) as the foil. As the far right becomes more extremist, he looks moderate in comparison, while taking on more and more of their positions. Eventually this will allow him to accrue power that he can truly become the Jupiterian despot that he dreams of being

    He's trying an austerity-with-a-human-face approach.
