It was extremely funny to see the driver park this (taking up 1.5 spaces) get out, then hop on an electric scooter to drive away.

Damn things have changed a lot. I lived in Wuhan '00-'03 and I think the only two people I knew with personal vehicles were the president and vice president of the college.

It's been wild seeing Wuhan of my childhood vs today. Some things are constant, like a guy eating 豆皮 with grain alcohol at 7 am on a weekday (for some reason) or 江汉路 being absolutely packed or the constant stream of tourists at Yellow Crane Tower. 光谷/Optics Valley going from a backwater to a huge commercial/nightlife/student area. Fresh running tracks along basically every lake in the city (which is quite a few). The air's cleaner, the streets are greener, basically everything has improved.

I am really impressed, I think I only saw blue skys a couple of times in the city. I really hope I get to go back and see how awesome it is now.

Letting a hundred flowers bloom means we also gotta properly identify and cull the weeds. Hope they get around to banning death trucks sooner rather than later.

Are we just gonna gloss over Big Altima Energy parking right on the fucking line? Granted, Truckasaurus doesn't even fit in the parking space, but they're not the only problem here.

The Altima is normally considered unnecessarily large.

Also this is guest parking, residents for the area get assigned spaces underground (1 per household).

How do you drive that thing and not feel embarassed the whole ride as well as the moments you're outside your car but close enough to signify it's yours

I saw a Jeture here in Arg the other day and despite I didn't like it before nor after googling what the fuck is "Jeture", I then preemptively pictured this meme against myself, just in case:

    wojak-nooo SUV

    so-true SUV, China

No, those things are absolutely horrible. I get the need to have a domestic SUV alternative but they look really bad (maybe with the exception of the Jetour Ice Cream which looks kind of cute, but that's more of a gimmick)

President Xi, stop being a liberal, i need you to ban these "vehicles" (death machines in reality) and drone strike anyone who bought them xi-plz . You should ban cars in general but i'll take what i can get i guess

    /hj

ofc, china is way too carbrained even with all the cool rail stuff they do but no i dont actually think they should kill someone who bought this. also is kinda crazy they're even allowing something like this

Nah I unironically think we should kill people who buy these. I don't see any value to the human race one could have if they spend limited resources on these toys for adults.

This was actually in late December but the tiny truck post reminded me of this monstrosity

I saw the same make and model but blue in Shenyang a couple years ago, it had to park in the same way. Funniest part was even with the love of stretched SUVs in China, this thing was still ridiculously oversized.
