we just need lula back in brazil and thats most of latin america back in the pink tide control
If Lula took back Brazil I think we would see a very different Latin America than before. Lula has literally been imprisoned by these libs and fascists, and Evo had a military coup. They're not going to be as lax on the defense of their gains this time around. I hope to see military purges all over the continent.
Red Terror Red Terror :stalin-shining:
where do you guys get this idea of lula
he's not radical by any means, quite the opposite, he's a centrist who very openly says anyone to the left of him is an idiot (his words not mine)
by god i want my country to move forward, but lula isn't gonna take us there
Lula isn't a radical leftist or anything but he's an ostensible anti-imperialist. Imperialism is the main contradiction right now, Latin America cannot be free until it atleast breaks the chains of US Imperialism, and even if Lula isn't a leftist, he isn't going to be cucked by US Empire like Bolsonaro. I wish Brazil had a more legitimate left wing alternative but that doesn't seem to be the case yet.
ostensible is a bit of an exaggeration given he did stuff like letting the federal police work with the FBI, or letting the US-aligned ukrainian government use our alcântara base
but he certainly wouldn't do egregious shit like directly giving americans that same right, so yea, he's kinda middle of the road which is an improvement over every other government we've had
i would say the PT today is genuinely harmful for the left and my only reason to vote for them in the presidential election is their willingness to give some crumbs to a working class that is already suffering too much, but that comes at the cost of hurting every chance of building a mass movement in the country
i'm willing to sacrifice my near future so that my south american brothers can have some respite, but it would be a sacrifice nonetheless
that is, unless we're able to build the left first, then maybe we can force the PT's hand like we would with any other neoliberal government
