The minute you guys finally understand that liberals are never going to be your ally and set your aims at conspiracy theorists and other disillusioned people, then we might actually have some success spreading propaganda.

Libs are never going to turn left. All those ones that were mad at the system after Hillary's loss back in 2016 ended up with the Russiagate nonsense to fall back on. Liberals believe in the system and they love the status quo. I on one hand, would much rather do something else than waste my time talking to those smug jackasses who in real life wouldn't give me the time of day cause I live in a "red state" and have an accent that makes me sound like I'm out of the movie Forrest Gump.

Conspiracy theorists, and yes, even reactionary chuds like some of the ones you might know on Facebook who annoy you; are much better targets for radicalizing, cause these people actually get it that something is wrong with the system and they are pissed off at the government. They won't be falling back on defending the status quo cause Obama's VP is on the ticket. From reading conspiracy theorists over the years, many of them come so close to getting it, but end up swayed thinking that the problem is some mythical boogie man or cabal. If you can spend the time and effort convincing them that it's not a boogie man and it's actually capitalists, they can be swayed. And they are a lot more useful than the smug assholes from r/politics who dehumanize poor people.

      1. Most U.S. leftists are former libs (hell, plenty on here still are libs!).
      2. Some conspiracy theorists are well-informed and willing to rationally criticize existing power structures, but a lot are just cranks.
      3. Some disillusioned people will become political if you speak to their material conditions, but a lot just want to grill and aren't likely to start doing non-electoral action when they don't even vote.

We should be putting at least some effort into appealing to everyone at this point (as we're small and no one knows how to build socialism in the imperial core), and it would definitely be a mistake to write off the majority of politically-active people in this country (libs).

I was unironically listening to and parroting Freakonomics 5 years ago. I don't think there's a fire hose of chuds just waiting to be moved left. Many definitely can be moved for sure, but there is less of a mental struggle for a working class lib to move left than a working class fascist.

The problem is that most Leftists are people who started off as liberals, and they just wish that the Democrats would do what they promise. The number of bonafide anti-capitalists out there is less than it was 10 years ago.

100% agree, which is why I doubt a lot of these new leftists that have sprung up in the past decade.....

Seriously, what would libs do that is useful to our movement? A seemingly unpopular opinion is that the left should be focused around the working class, even though it's written in the communist manifesto. So many western leftists have bought into liberal ID-POL bullshit about the "white working class" and other made up terms that are used as subdivisions to divide the working class. The conversation is moved away from class analysis, cause the ruling class absolutely don't want people of all races and culture uniting under the same banner and waking up. That's why identity politics is shoved down our throats at every way we turn. A good example was when we had the riots back in June and the media worked in overdrive to divide it with ID-POL with talks about "white agitators" and "white anarchists". It sowed division among the protests and led to people turning over suspected anarchists to the fucking cops and was the first step in defanging the protests all together.

This is why I say leftists should focus on trying to convert conspiracy theorists and other reactionaries to the left instead of ignoring them and allowing the right to brainwash them. Cause these people understand something is wrong with the world and they are pissed the fuck off at the government. If you browse their forums, they come sooooo close to understanding that the problem is capitalism and not some cabal of mythical boogie men screwing it up. Not only that, but these people are armed and actually will push propaganda, which makes them 10X more useful than some middle class smug liberal sitting on r/politics talking in coded language about how they despise poor people living in red states.

There's also a lot of disillusioned military veterans who have been exposed to the system and the war industry, and they are angry they were lied to and used for the empire. These people also would be a lot more useful to us, rather than smug fucking liberals.

Capitalism is a cabal of mythical boogiemen. The problem is that the "Left" is full of liberals who like the "nice" boogie men and they are easily conned.
