I'm just gonna borrow this definition, as it is a perfect thing to send your lib friends

It combines the two things they hate the most, understand the least, and, by extension, feel most passionately about

10/10 I believe I just found the other non-lib on this site apart from me

It means jews, but most chuds, especially Israel-loving chuds, totally forgot or never understood it beyond being a buzzword.

Not an expert, but cultural Marxism can refer to theory in the vein of Gramsci or in the case of someone like jordan peterson, its sort of a reframing of cultural bolshevism, which a nazi anti communist conspiracy thing.

Yeah this was a good episode and worth a listen -- if you need a short primer, this is pretty decent: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFQrV8UxpVA

Yeah. If it's not clear that it's a retooling of cultural bolshevism from his speeches in general, watch his prager u video on it and its pretty clear.

I cant really comment in gramsci, never even listened to a podcast about him, let alone read his writing, but I think it's something along the lines of what the cultural revolution was trying to deal with in regards to capitalism/liberalism shaping the ideological super structure of society.

The right wing idea is that after the fall of the Communist Block, Western leftists couldn't argue for Marxism in the open as it was utterly disproven as an economic system. So instead they turned to try to shape the culture of their societies in a leftist direction.

Well, it's not really a coherent viewpoint and obviously just totally misunderstands Marxism, but here's my understanding of how Peterson sees it:

Marxism means everyone and everything is equal. Nothing and no one is better than anyone else. Cultural Marxism means we can't say one culture's viewpoint is superior to another's. So for example, Peterson probably endorses the Christian view of gender roles. He can probably spout a bunch of BS as to why this is the right way to view gender. But then cultural Marxism says "who are you to impose your view on other people, these other views on gender are equally valid".

So in the end he's only calling it "Marxism" because he does that chud thing of thinking that Marxism means everyone should be forced to be equal. Exactly what you'd expect from someone who's only ever spent 5 minutes skimming The Communist Manifesto.

spent 5 minutes skimming The Communist Manifesto

I thought he admitted to Zizek that he hadn't even done that.

the Frankfurt school of Marxists criticized culture, which is the worse thing possible to mindless American fascists who have no existence in their lives besides comic book movies and eating burgers.

but they were really just weird irrelevant philosophers so anyone whining about them "destroying western civilization" is really just a weak little tool who can't handle a basic critique
