Since COVID I’ve been working from home and getting paid for 40 hours, but I only actually work about eight of those hours. I hate those double stack connectors, such a pain to line up correctly, but the thicker gauge wire makes it hold its shape somewhat better. It's so much easier with the 8 straight across connectors.

Same here, I can usually fix almost anything. My brother thought I was insane when I baked his laptop board in the oven, but it worked. I upgraded several older USB A devices to USB C connectors because I was sick of adapters. I bought a fun "luxury" vehicle that was cheap because they've got a reputation for being unreliable that you're supposed to never own out of warranty, but I did all the upgrades and modifications that make it quite reliable, increased it's power/handling, and have put 100000 miles on it without many issues. I doubt I'll ever sell it, too much unalienated labor invested and nothing affordable will likely be an upgrade.
