I participated in a protest where basically, a bunch of socialists were protesting about some bigoted laws/politicians in another country (not imperial core or exploited global south)
When they initially approached me to let me know about it, the flyer, website, and conversations all mainly focused on specific Western institutions as the bad actors funding and backing these bigoted groups in the foreign country which was why I decided this wasn't an op and wanted to join
However, during the actual protest, almost all the signs were mainly focused on the foreign politicians' and called them out by name as the bad actors
Now, we were in front of the country's governmental office so that might make sense
But a part of me thinks I may have gotten baited to try and displace these politicians for wider geopolitical goals under the guise of anti-bigotry
You have to just do a fuck ton of research. This is the one sphere where the intelligence boys are much farther ahead of us in being conscientious about. For instance the APEC conference is coming up in Cali, where APEC is a Asian pacific free trade agreement. However, at this moment China is currently the most influential player in APEC and is using it as a vector for belt and road style diplomatic agreements. On the other hand the US has stopped going to APEC events including biden skipping out on the last conference, while setting up IPEF as a US led alternative to APEC.
The NED has been funding anti APEC protests in places like Thailand aiming at free trade (which sucks) and aiming at China and Xi (which obviously is part of the pivot to China). So there will be a lot of leftists protesting APEC because leftists despise free trade, but also serving the US' interests by garnering dissent towards APEC while the US builds up IPEF.
This is a small instance of it but everybody should be extremely clear to the fact that it is the CIA playbook to manipulate left elements to further their interests, whether that's here or elsewhere.
