I spent the entire day at my friend's camp and I was actually happy. I wasn't sober and I'm not sober now but it's not like eating me alive and I didn't need it.
Because addicts need love and support and friends, not hatred and accusation.
I know what that feels like. I realize AA isn't this way everywhere, but it gave me a group of people who wanted to like me sincerely and we did things outside of the meetings together which makes it tons easier to quit imo. It doesn't have to be AA, any group of kind people will do of course.
