The only thing uniting the right in a lot of states is a hatred of Democrats and the ballot initiatives passing all over the board is proof of that. If they just left most states and let independents fill the vacuum, the right would splinter into competing factions and eventually other parties. It could also give states a chance to flip that wouldn't because of no name association.

Abandoning entire states worth of people cause the party feels those people are beneath them/not worth their time is the exact mentality that has lead states to be so entrenched as red/blue and is largely why republicans are so quick to dismiss dems
Buddy, it's done. Democrats suck, but so does the GOP. Bernie held Vermont while they had Republican governors. It's not giving up, it's giving them a chance the Democrats won't.
