    No but see if most of us weren't struggling for scraps we'd have no will to innovate or work hard! Struggle and only struggle gives our existence meaning!

    Real talk, I'd like to see that logic applied to why we should "relieve" the ultra-wealthy of such a burden.

      I've had a version of this argument thrown at me when I tried to argue for monthly stimulus checks (and also rent/mortgage freezes) during the covid19 pandemic, on the basis that a lot of poor people treated it like a slush fund (e.g. buying fireworks) rather than spending it more responsibly, e.g. saving up for a car or otherwise investing in themselves.
