    Bernie was our last chance at fighting climate change, if we had a chance at all

      Bernie is a counter-revolutionary social democrat, and even so, none of that could happen in the alternate universe he is president. Repubs and dems alike will do anything to stop it.

        idk. i feel the worst part of bernie losing is that all (well, most) of that energy and activity we had is gone. that in itself would have made a huge difference in everything from george floyd, to unemployment/rent during covid and everything going forward. we definitely wouldn't have seen all the moderates and centrists talking about reaching across the aisle, cuz they'd be afraid of losing their own seats if they went against the left (just like anti-trump and moderate-republicans turned fash pretty quickly after trump.)

        At best moderates might try a last minute emergency switch off everything (with generous stimulus to those poor Fossil Fuel industries), but that's assuming moderate R's even believe in that shit in the first place.
