Damn, I wonder if anything changed economically in the 1970s that caused crime to rise :curious-marx:

Interestingly, this piece only uses it as a form of priming. It makes up half of the headline and serves as the introduction to the copy, but never comes up again after that and has zero relation to the actual subject. It's just there to set the mood they want the reader to be in.

Have you considered that he likes ice cream?

He likes it and I like it.

How can he be the bad guy because that would make me the bad guy and I like ice cream.

Better prisons that teach don't teach young criminals how to be old criminals

Read: we're going to lock them for a fucking long time and put into slave labor

Also not how it says "young criminal", like being a criminal is like a predestination.

    "He understands what's happening today"

Feels very ironic in light of his current cognitive decline.

Chapo chat - Ha ha! People really think Biden can be pushed left!

Also Chapo chat - Look, we can totally radicalize liberals. Yeah, I know, they're smug and hate everyone who is poor, but it's totally worth them talking down to you, we can radicalize them, for real! I'm serious!

The propagandists and actual capitalists have their class interests, and there certainly is no point in trying to turn them. However, Liberalism is the dominant ideology under capitalism. Pretty much everyone you meet is a liberal. If you're gonna give up on radicalising them, then what the fuck is even the socialist project for you? A secret club house where you just get to hang out with the cool kids? Fuck off with that hipster shit.
