I'm pretty sure I know what's going on here.

This is probably one of those people who doesn't believe there's any connection at all between diet/exercise and fat, and who denies that fat has any negative health effects other than as a result of anti-fat discrimination. So, to them, any notion that it's good if people are more fit is basically just eugenics, and they're saying that they think a lot of people only want good things out of this eugenic impulse rather than because they're actually interested in helping people.

I think they do want the things they listed and are just saying others want them for the wrong reasons. So this isn't really a case of a reactionary justifying themselves with idpol so much as a science denialist coming to weird conclusions because they're a science denialist.

Edit- Come to think of it, it's got to be more than that, because even if they were completely right on the science this would still require everyone else to secretly know they were right but say nothing in order to prop up this arbitrary ableist hierarchy. I'd say this is more like an illogical belief that comes from bullying this person received for being fat, or self-hatred. People who believe this stuff are really just looking for shelter from a society that's legitimately shitty towards them, and they end up with the science denialism because that's what's available to them.
