No Hexbear isn't brigading you I'm clicking on the main page of the website and replying to whatever I see. I don't even know what website I'm on, I have ADHD, I aint got the kind of focus. Anyway I'm going to go brigade a thread about video games with my pro-FFXIV propaganda.

If you share an image of the comments rather than a link it's less likely to lead to brigading.

What if a link is shared with a different community because that community has a shared interest? Is that brigading? What if it's crossposted? What if I share your post with my discord friends because I think they'll have something interesting to contribute? What if I tell one friend about your website? 3? 5? At what point is that brigading?

See this is why brigading is the most worthless concept ever. All of our communities are free and open access. Anyone can pop in from anywhere at any time. And we largely WANT people with shared interests to show up and hang out. That's literally the point. And we do that by sharing content with those people in hopes they want to stick around. The communities are BUILT off of what you and all the other nerds keep calling "brigading." So basically you want your insulated community to never grow and never change and be members only FOREVER, or you want your content shared with others with the purpose of engagement in that content.

By the definition I keep hearing about evil evil brigading it just sounds like "stop sharing my post with anyone!" It's the Internet on public sites. You posted it. It's on there for anyone to see forever. You already shared it with literally the entire world. People are gonna see it and engage with it. If you don't want that then you're free to not post. Simple as.
