Ah yes. the court and reproductive rights would definitely be saved by the guy who...
:checks notes:
Refused to believe a sexual assault survivor who dared accuse the man who became the most conservative member of the court.
Counter point: You can also be non American
Edit: I would still not vote for Biden
I understand your point, and I don’t have a vote (as I’m not American lol), but do you really think a Biden judge will be much better? We’re talking about the guy who got Clarence Thomas on the SC. If he gets to nominate someone he’ll “reach across the aisle” and we’ll end up with some “compromise” which actually means a centre-right judge.
Edit to add that he’d also have to get a nominee through the senate which the dems just seem to have zero ability to win back, McConnell blocked Obama for a whole year, why not block Biden for a whole term?
I hear what you're saying but Biden already promised to appoint a Republican judge so that seat's going GOP either way.
Also I'm not voting for a rapist/segregationist
That view is valid, but it's important to recognize that it is still based on just a guess on what will happen. You could just as easily guess that voting for Biden will enforce the attitude that the left will always vote for the democrats, speeding up their slide rightwards. A member of a minority group could make either guess, so I don't think it is a matter of privilege.
Yeah trump is bad and enables far right reactionaries. If you live in a swing state you should vote for Biden. If you don't, then vote third party. Some of these deep south states have no chance of turning blue, so you might as well show some support for PSL or the Greens.
I think i somewhat understand your position. Can't talk from my own experience, but this mirrors my queer roommates fear about a further four years of trump. (europeans, but they're very online). If the rnc is going to pull any culture-war shit it's gonna be targeted at queer people for sure, hell most of republican states actively moves to make life harder for lgbtq+ people.. So yeah, i understand why the lgbtq+ community if afraid of trump being reelected. And yes, it's probably privilege that i don't share the fear.
A slight comfort is, i don't think their gonna try their luck with roe v wade, only their more staunch bible-thumpers are serious about that, so they would get pushback from some of their own, and all the dems.
