it still amazes me how the 9/11 thing didn't stick. Normally that stuff doggs lefties forever
Edit: I should clarify that it is fucking hilarious though, espically the bit about the brave mujhadeen skullfucking Crenshaw's eye out

If you watched the context, cuckfucker93, he said none of the people who died individually deserved to actually die. He clarified that America deserved it, in the sense that they created it.

I'll "stay edgy" while America continues to go into pointless wars and/or lie to go into pointless wars (hello, Iraq) while fucking up the countries they invade.

I'm sorry about your Aunt. But she's collateral damage of politicians and the Pentagon. Be angry at them, not me.

This is a 2004 Vbulliten message board. People are gonna seem mean, they actually aren’t, this aint a social media site so things are different

Gamers have made edgy 9/11 jokes for years now. Probably why.

Yeah i have to assume its because no one, or at least a majority, who watches hasan would be old enough to have a connection with 9/11

Kinda glad I was born after, because every anniversary of 9/11 my teachers do the “we were all so united as Americans” speech before class. I may have become one of those

I've heard some where that twitch takes like 40% so not nearly that much but yeah he a millionaire if his subs stay consistent even if at say 80% of this number over a year. Plus I think he still uploads on youtube could be decent chunk from there as well, seeing as he gets 50k views on the minimum certainly wouldn't be surprised if he makes what you or I make from youtube alone

Afaik the YouTube is cut by a fan from the twitch vods and Hasan lets the person keep all the money from the channel (it was making like 4 dollars a month at the beginning of the year though).

There was this big thing a while ago where someone accused hasan of taking advantage of people producing stuff for the channel, but it turned out the guy sent some vague discord messages and was basically operating without his knowledge

Like you said though he’s getting big money from twitch though

for partners on subs it's typically a 50/50 split but top streamers get 70/30 (them/amazon), so it's far more - he also brings in ad money which is probably a truckload now (iirc itshafu indicated she basically tripled her income on the newer twitch contract which forced X many ads every hour of broadcast)

Don't we all but it's the same in any industry when you look at the top 1% of the top 1% (TRUCKLOADS OF MONEY)

There is clearly a market for leftist-dialogue related content. That being said, I don't really know what it's relationship is with a growth in socialist activism.

That's fair. I guess I just worry about the method of conversion because I remember the new atheist movement and how people who were 'converted' through youtube (streams were not really a thing at the time) were generally the most toxic to gaining more support.

There was that one debate between Hasan and Charlie Kirk and I didn't watch the actual debate because I'm not an idiot but I watched the beginning

Charlie Kirk looked like such a fucking dork next to our himbo, and it was hilarious when during the introduction Hasan clearly got a lot more female cheers compared to Charlie's audience of pol faces.

Fair point. But listen, I have an alternative for the 'ashamed to be a gamer' that doesn't involve streamers. It's called semi-ironic self-loathing. I hear it's all the rage with kids these days.

I mean the growth of right wing media on the radio and cable TV clearly helped contribute to things like the Boogaloo boys and QAnon. I'm optimistic that in a decade or too Hasan and company will bring over a lot of new people.

hasan is great, but he needs to just be a 21st century socialist instead of this "im an actual socialist (not aoc or bernie breed) and i want to change it with electoral politics" instead of organizing people around other ideas and parties or something...

      21st century socialist

i find this kinda funny because he regularly dunks on electoralism-denouncing MLs saying they follow an "outdated" ideology

this only covers streamers who have their subs tracked. so he probably doesn't actually have the most subs
