Cuba leads race for Latin American coronavirus vaccine

As Latin American nations test experimental coronavirus vaccines from across the globe and economic heavyweights such as Brazil and Mexico jockey for supply deals with major drugmakers, Communist-run Cuba already has two of its own vaccines in clinical trials.

Let's put aside that vaccines being researched in capitalist countries are heavily funded by the public, and all the capitalist system is doing is allowing a small group of people to profit off a publicly funded public good.

Cuba has 11 million people and yet they're in the race to find a vaccine. What kind of a mind fuck would it be if Cuba produces a vaccine? How much would this boost the reputation of socialism and what can be done if social good was a motive for innovation over profit and greed?

      They joke in Cuba that if they were to develop the vaccine the US would let every single one of its citizens die before even considering importing it lol

    Doubt much would change. They'd just say that their vaccine is bad akshually and that they only got it fast because they forced people to try it etc.
