Only temporarily. The ultimate goal should be to eliminate employment altogether.

Why eliminating unemployment would be bad?

Unemployment is when people seek a job but cannot find it.

Anyways, if the ultimate goal of your society is not to accumulate money stepping over anyone else, but to improve the living conditions of everyone particularly in a time with so many people in shitty living conditions, ¿is it ok to not participate in such effort, one way or another?

OP is correct when it comes to how the term is understood in the US.

Also, if you're not looking for a job and you're not employed, how are you a part of the labor force?

@disintegore has been fined for social parasitism, please prove you are taking advantage of your right to employment or you will be fined a second amount.

(this is bad, don't do this)

No, I'm not talking about something extreme like that. You don't need to, (and you deff shouldn't), force anyone to work.

It's not about legislation, but about, ¿way of thinking?.
