The one and only thing that happens when software fails is some nerds bank account slowly drains.

I was under the impression that we have software controlling safety critical systems like nuclear reactors, power distribution networks, certain satellites. This is definitely the most dire consequence 99.9999% of the time that software fails, but I feel like it's a bit disingenuous to say it universally.
