sending good vibes to all my trans comrades still kicking, too :cat-trans:
Really interesting in that, while it's a story largely about the main character realizing she's trans, the writer didn't realize it when she wrote it. It was only after the writer herself discovered that she was trans that she realized how much of that narrative she'd written into the game
Thanks for sharing this, cus it convinced me to check out the game and it's incredible.
i played a bit of the original web-based one, i had no idea about any of this. makes me want to play the new game
Absolutely do. Even without the trans subtext, Celeste is easily in the top 5 games of the last decade
I miss my comrade B. She was the realest one you could ever hope to meet. She used to organise direct action with trans sex workers whenever they were attacked by the police or military to force them to accept their reports and forward them on to the UN.
She lost her job when Trump cut their funding and she had to go back into sex work to make ends meet. Some cops or soldiers hired a gang to kill her, and they shot her 8 times in the chest. They still said her official cause of death was accidental. I'm so sad and angry that they took my friend away.
Nunca te olvidaremos, B.
Trans people like platformers that make me want to break my controller and flip my monitor onto the floor?
Oh yeah that makes sense. Just a joke about the games brutal fucking difficulty.
Someone on this fucking site yesterday said to me "I don't bear you ill will, but I don't like you either. You are correct in that I'm not your comrade." Lol so yeah happy Trans Day of Remembrance everyone. Maybe next year you'll be remembering me.
Fuck em. Not everyone on this site is here for a good time, some are here to troll or spread dissent. And even if their not an op, they can still get fucked if they aren't capable of smallest shred of empathy for other people, like why the fuck are you a leftist then.
