Always blows my mind that there's literally several dozen of these giant, futuristic cities in China that most people in the US or the EU have never even heard the name of. You could tell somebody in my country about Chongquing and they'd probably go "are there any major cities nearby?" because all they know are Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong and the rest of the country must be some rural backwater that you could paint on a porcelaine vase.

I was blown away by ChongQing when i first heard of it, and then I started looking up videos, then you watch videos of Shenzen, & Shanghai, and all illusions of western superiority just vanish from your mind.

Edit: I mean look at this shit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKbs1beYAJQ

We have nothing like it in the west. Could you even do this without centralized city planning?

Yeah traveling to China really opened my eyes to how far behind we're falling.

Looked it up, not projectors, buildings deck out in LED lights.

"No less that 42 of the district's skyscrapers are completely decked out in LEDs. The light show coordinates them all in a single, stunning half hour of kaleidoscopic wonderment, on a citywide scale."

Would also add that I haven't seen projectors look that good, color reproduction usually takes a hit.

Chongqing sounds like a racist impersonation of a Chinese person to people who don't know anything about China. People look at you like you're making it up when you talk about it.
