On one side: He (And California leadership overall) is unwilling to actually do what needs to be done to combat this (Pay people to stay fuckin' home).

But on the other: The Recall Newsom crowd clearly just want to replace him with someone that just won't give a fuck at all, open everything up 100% and keep it opened up no matter how bad things get.

Haha, this sucks man.

California is one of the greatest examples because you can point to it and basically tell people that this is exactly what the country would have looked like under Biden: SHIT

California has almost no "Trump" influence in terms of the coronavirus. California "heard the science" and "shut down" immediately and with force. It's just that, libs that they are, "shut down" basically meant "any business that wants to stay open can if they think they're special." And shocker, they all stayed open! (exaggerating)

So the same thing happened that happened in every other state - people went to work and people got sick. Not because of the orange man, or GOP Governor So-and-So, but because of Capitalism. And liberals love capitalism probably more than conservatives.

California could have shut everything down, taxed the rich and mobilized the people, and take over the necessary infrastructure to have a much better outlook from this virus. They didn't and we all know why. But for liberals, let California be a shining example of what the USA would have looked like under a democratic president. Shit.

Well, to be maybe too fair to California, there's only so much a fuckin state can do because the money all comes from the feds. Is any state paying people not to work? I feel like that's beyond most state budgets.

No states are doing that, but CA could. It's certainly beyond most states' budgets but not CA. It's not much of a joke to call it the world's fifth largest economy. There are some things to be fair to California about but this isn't one of them imo - this is literally a case study on capitalism and how Blue v Red means jack shit in the face of stuff like this
