I don't think the US empire has it in them to actually start a war with China before the state collapses. it might happen as part of a counter-revolution a la Napolean but, by the time that happens, the state will have already collapsed. it's more likely that we balkanize and China invades us for "humanitarian" reasons before any such thing occurs, exactly to prevent this kind of reaction.
