Had a remnant from another thread asynchronously jump to my single comment view. I viewed a megathread, went to a single comment view, someone posted a comment in a megathread and it appeard in the single comment view. Minor issue I guess.
yeah i know what that is. you're not leaving the websocket room for the last post. let me see what i can do
Cool, cos i mostly browse by new comments and i can't really do that now
Yeah, but if the thread is more than a page long, finding the parent comment is annoying, because it doesn't jump any more
Example: someone comments "No, actually the DPRK uses a different system" or something, i go to the comment from the front page, i now have no idea what they were replying to, and if it's in a post with more than 100 comments, i never will.
I could before because it would jump straight to the commentI take it there's no way to turn it off or something on my end?
k i should have something live in a little bit. just needs to build. it's not perfect but it'll help you out for now
wait do you want like a view context button directly on the comment in your feed? would that help? i just merged something that will add it the same place the "view post" link is for now.
Would be really nice if when you click on the context link in your replies it would show you the whole comment thread. As it is now it only shows me the reply itself and not even what comment it is referring to.
Ahh well. Looking forward to when it works. Pretty integral to a good user experience (🤮) for me.
Does this fix the comment reply link notification in a huge (1000+ comment) megathread? I know when I tried to go get context of a reply to me, I couldn't instantly "lock" onto the reply it was going to, it'd just load the whole thread without jumping down.
