The idea that antifa was a structured international terrorist organization funded by George Soros stems from a law enforcement conference in Germany where a now-disgraced fascist head of federal police told a bunch of international cops about it. All the higher up cops know it's bullshit but they want their beat cops and detectives to believe it because it suits their interests. They can demand funding and less legal restrictions on the basis of stopping domestic terrorism and the antisemitic fascist undertones are icing on the cake.
