Decolonizing the World Bank and IMF would mean immediate loan forgiveness for all the third-world nations that they trap in endless cycles of debt and force into extreme market liberalization, never forget that the World Bank and IMF are the reason why everything is made in the third world - they give out loans in exchange for countries following their insane dogma of extreme market deregulation and privatization.

Of course, they just mean changing the name or something because that's racist.

I'm down for it. But they're gonna have to give us all their money, forgive our debts and then stop existing forever.

And kill their whole own family and friends with their own hands, just to start balance things a little bit.

Has anyone written about the "woke treadmill" where people on the left come up with terms, then they are adopted by radlibs, then they are used cynically by right wingers/libs? It feels like its happened to several terms now

It exists for literally everything. Lenin wrote about how people who literally called themselves Marxists were liberals or something like that. If the left-wing gains enough momentum in this country, liberals will start calling themselves Marxist-Leninists 😂

The article is...fine. There's no way giving poor countries an equal vote to rich ones is going to make the IMF or WB actually good, but hopefully realizing that these institutions are used to subvert democracy should make libs question and eventually reject "money makes right" neo-colonialist policy

Fun fact, the current general secretary of the United Nations previously led the Socialist international. The fact that this isn't even news, and doesn't matter in the slightest, is depressing on many levels.
