The people who think "yeah, Biden's fine" or even "Biden's good, actually" functionally live in a different reality than folks who (1) know who Neera Tanden is and (2) are upset about her nomination. It's entirely possible this is just a Veep-style fuckup, and they can't see beyond the edges of their own bubble.
They don't know what plays well with us, and we have to be constantly on guard against losing touch with what will play well with them (and anyone else outside of terminally-online leftists). If we get stuck in our own bubble, we can't grow, and if the left can't grow it will accomplish nothing.
They know exactly what plays well with us, and they done everything they can to try to distract us, browbeat us, or keep our eyes off the prize (i.e. Medicare for All, Green New Deal, or any other major reforms that threaten Capital)
The comment in the tweet was absolutely said sarcastically in person as a mocking joke.
Maybe they’re worse inbred failsons than I thought, but I think they’d be smart enough to know the person who punched Bernies campaign manager wouldn’t be popular on the left.
"Obama world" was much more right wing, pro corporate (i.e. they weren't friendly with activist non profits at all) than "Clinton world", it's just that Clinton world was orders of magnitude more vicious to socialists (and understands the difference between "progressives" and "Sanders world").
Whereas Obama world never actually understood them, and viewed the progressives that they had conflicts with most prominently as being Warren, Jeff Merkley (who is certainly the closest to Bernie world at times), Sherrod Brown, Al Franken, ect.

They know some things that play well with us (like M4A), but I doubt they're tracking the polling on Neera Tanden.
They know that a bunch of little twerps get really mad about Neera, and this is a way to rub it in their faces smugly.
