The mayor of Denver told everyone not to travel for Thanksgiving, then flew to Mississippi to see his daughter and wife, then tried to play it off like he wasn't being deceitful about it. Followed by a non-apology apology on Twitter.
Same thing as that Citations Needed epsides about climate change a few weeks back. They act like they "believe science" but their actions show us that they don't. We're so fucked.
Meanwhile, I haven't been out of my house longer then it takes to grab the mail in the last two months because I live in mortal fear of ending up with crippling medical debt even though I ostensibly have health insurance!
(Minus the exception of having to take my sick ferret to the vet, because despite my fears I love my little string beans more than just about anything)
He's doing good
I thought he was suffering a seizure from insulinoma (basically diabetes), but it turned out he had a small stroke.
It sounds awful, but it was actually the least terrible outcome.
He had some weakness on his right side for a week, but as of today the only you could tell he had a problem is that his belly fur still hasn't grown back
I'm glad! I know from having guinea pigs years ago that it can be hard to find good small animal vet care, and vet care is expensive too. So I'm glad it all worked out. More time with our critters is always precious, no matter what kind of animal.
It's a real good look to do what your shaming others for doing.
And it doesn't give any ammo to right wingers that say this pandemic is fake so they shouldn't have to follow the rules.
