Is there anywhere worth living anymore?

Berlin just did some kind of crazy rent cap so my friend's rent (she lives in a decent apartment, alone, within walking distance of the main train station) went down to like 350 EUR. That's including heating, water, etc. So, until the landlords succeed in overthrowing the ruling at least, I'm gonna say Berlin.

For real. My flatmate (other city in Germany) won a court case against our landlord so our rent got lowered by half. Which was amazing. And then like a week later he started threatening her with shady stuff so in short we have to move out by March :') Mao Was Right

Jo if you like contact me and tell me if you already given notice. In some cases there is good resistance possible. Esp. with threats of violence from landlords there is currently potential for left wing solidarity resistance (cause some evicted people are pissed of with landlords)

Also eviction processes take ages and are cheap for the renters.

Thank you! It turns out ok for us in the end anyway - my uni's online till October 2021 so I was thinking of saving some money by staying at my family's till then, and my flatmate's applied for a job in a different city. It's more the principle of the thing, you know? He literally convinced some friend to lie in court for him (the friend claimed he was present when my flatmate signed the lease, when he wasn't). And then when the court ruled against him despite his trickery, he decided to continue causing trouble. Douchebag 😂
