Nah I get it. I used to go to a private school for a while and these people drove me mad too. Honestly it was part of my radicalization process, my parents are comfortable but not rich by any stretch, they could only send me to a private school because they thought it was super important for some reason and because I was an only child, and even then we went into the red for a couple years. But a lot of the other people there were basically kids of wealthy businessmen, even some right wing politicians (Greece). I think the moment I really figured out that these people have opposing interests and they don't really give a shit was when some guy was talking fondly of when some right wing shit head prime minister closed down the government service both of my parents worked for because of all the employees being lazy moochers or whatever. The only reason we managed to stay afloat was because my dad happened to be 1 year away from getting his pension, and my mom was lucky enough to be rehired, both of which may have easily not happened, in which case I have no clue what we were supposed to do. So I turn and tell him, "you do know both of my parents worked there, right?" and he just tells me "what do I care?" and I was just so confused and struck that I didn't even answer.

Another thing is how much money they just fucking burn for no reason all the time. You won't imagine. Some of them don't even burn that much money because they want stuff, just because they literally can't be assed not to do so. I knew some kid who went to study in the UK and she didn't even switch to a UK number, which means she paid some stupid amount of money for making calls while abroad, just because she couldn't be assed. And that's not even nearly the worst thing she did, like, she didn't come back to her home in Greece during the lockdown and instead continued to pay like a thousand euros per month for her apartment in London when she could just live in her parent's home for free for a few months, literally because... She wanted access to her uni's library??? Like, what the hell??? Fucking pirating or even just buying books didn't cross her mind? Does she think there aren't any libraries in Greece?? By the way, she's actually one of the better people from that god forsaken school, like, she's actually a decent person who cares about people and isn't a fucking asshole surprisingly but she grew up with so much money she doesn't even really understand the concept.

But the fucking worst was some gross moron who sometimes brought up how he thinks the junta was akshually cool and good. Now I didn't give much stock to him because I was under the impression he was just a massive moron who thought he was being cool, and probably not a terrible excuse of a human being besides his idiocy. There was some other guy who was a legit fascist, but I didn't believe that guy really believed his nonsense. Well, guess what, of course I was wrong. Tbf maybe I was right about the junta part, I'm still not sure to what extent he really believed that shit because I don't think he was smart enough to have political opinions. But some day like a year after we graduated from that trash school, my friend told me she is pissed that he wants to be at some reunion they were doing, because she is scared of him. And at first I was like, scared? Why? Because he really didn't seem threatening in any way, just a dumbass. So it seemed very weird to me. And then she tells me, "oh, haven't I told you?". And she basically described how he was hosting a party and he sat next to her while drunk as fuck, and kept saying gross shit to her. At some point he started rubbing her thighs, and she started feeling extremely uncomfortable. So eventually she got up and said she has to leave, at which point he stood up and basically threw himself on her with all his 100kg obese failson bulk, resulting in her falling down and her strapless coming off in front of everyone. Next day he pretended he didn't remember what happened because he was drunk or whatever. But the shittiness does not stop there, because it's not like he regretted it, he kept saying gross shit to her with every opportunity, and kept trying to get her to be alone with him. At some point he "trapped" her into a situation where she couldn't refuse him giving her a ride, and during the entire route he bragged about what new bank he moved his money into (ie the money his daddy gave him), and how it is so promising, and how he got a part time job at some company (which is basically a nothing job where he is required to do literally nothing for a few hours, he got that job because his father is a businessman and you know how this shit works), and he whined about how he's only paid like 1000k for that month which is "not even enough to pay for my gas". For reference, 1000k is the average wage in Greece for a normal job, people with families have to live on that shit, and he is complaining that he's getting that much for a dumb part time summer job where he basically just has to show his face before he goes to the bathroom to beat his dick for 4 hours.

The worst part of all is how her common friends with him don't do anything about his behavior, even le epic leftist progressive lmao communism haha ones. The assholes sometimes didn't even disagree with her and tell her she was wrong, they just tacitly agreed but then acted like nothing weird was going on anyways. They're so fake. The other girl is supposed to be a trotskyist or whatever the fuck and she dated the literal fascist for a while, like, how is anyone supposed to take these people's beliefs seriously? They don't take them seriously themselves. It doesn't matter to them.

So yeah, there was my rant.

i don't agree. culture does not automatically coalese, languages rarely naturally combine, and technology can be applied both to aid homogenity or avert it.
